Once Ireland’s leading nationalist newspaper the Evening Telegraph launched in 1871 and closed 1924. The newspaper was published in Dublin and was founded by Lord Mayor of Dublin, Edmund Dwyer Gray. The Evening Telegraph started off as a weekly newspaper however due to its success it became a daily newspaper and was printed Monday – Saturday.
The Evening Telegraph was printed using a pink based paper which made the title stand out from the competition. Through the Evening Telegraph researchers will gather information on social events, politics and illustrations.
