The Drogheda Argus & Leinster Journal Prospectus: The Argus shall be found at all times the staunch supporter of the People's rights and liberties - their claims shall be enforced - their privileges maintained, and no opinion shall be advanced that will not square with right reason and national independence.
The argus was founded September 1835. In 1855, John Boyle O'Reilly, the great patriot and most notable of the fenian journailists, started to serve his time in the printing room.
